I have heard prophecy after prophecy about the coming revival and restoration in America. At the Torchgrab conference in August 1999 in Littleton, CO ,Cindy Jacobs, the founder and leader of a prayer Group in America called 'Generals of Intercession', gave a prophecy about the coming revival. She said that revival would start in the High Schools and that students needed to pray for and in their schools because revivals in the past have died because people didn't pray. She also said that there would be students who would worship God outside their schools who would be the "gate keepers" of their schools spiritually and that worship leader Kent Henry was to lead the worshipers. God would also merge the younger generations (35 and under) and older generations (35 and over) so that they could be together in this coming revival. The coming revival will include healings and even the raising of the dead because this generation has seen death. I have heard several prophecies about this revival being like nothing we have ever seen before. One was from Kim Clement (a prophet from Africa who now lives in the U.S.).
We are on the brink of the biggest move of God in history since the early church!
In her book "The Next Move of God - A Divine Revelation of the Coming Revival" Fuchsia Pickett talks about a vision God gave her. She says, " I saw pipes being placed underground from one fountainhead to another - from church to church. The pipes formed a network of churches, connecting those with deep wells that He had dug and filled with His living water - the living Word. When a vast network of churches had been filled with living water, God would pull a great switch and open all the gates of truth that have been dammed up by man. At the time of my vision my Father said to me, ' I am running the pipes now. And this time when I pull that great power switch and release all the rivers of my living Word in their fullness, no demon, devil, man, or denomination will ever dam it up again. I will do a quick work.' "
God also revealed to her what local churches would look like in this revival. She writes, "The local churches would use the power of the living Word to take care of the needs of the people who gravitated to them. Whatever type of people - youth, elderly, poor - that gravitated to a local church would receive full pastoral care. They would train disciples, and teach ministers, raising them up to take the church into her inheritance and my Father said it will happen soon."
Nothing comes closer to being able to provide large numbers of people with full pastoral care, training disciples one on one, & teaching and raising up each member of the Body of Christ to be the ministers God created them to be than the "cell church". "Cells" or "home groups" are small groups of believers that gather in homes to love one another, help each other become who they are in Christ, and reach their friends and loved ones with the love of Christ.
And this coming revival is for everyone! God doesn't want anyone to miss out on it! You can pray and ask God to make you a part of it. We were all created for this time of restoration & created to be a part of it.
In John 13:34, Jesus said, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."(NIV)
There is a rampant problem of isolation in this country. It has lead to many problems in our nation, including the shootings at Columbine, Wedgewood Baptist Church in Texas and others. If people felt loved and connected with others they would not try to kill other people.
The love of Christ is the solution to this problem. It is only when Jesus loves through us that we can love one another the way He commanded us. And it is love that will heal hurting people. Fuchsia Picket also says in her book "The Next Move of God" that we will know we have seen the coming revival "when Jesus' high priestly prayer in the seventeenth chapter of John becomes a reality in the Church." John 17:20-23 says: "My prayer is not for them alone (his disciples in the early Church). I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."(NIV)
Romans 12:5 says, "So we, being many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another." (NKJV) The NIV says, "So in Christ we who are many form one body and each member belongs to all the others."
Ephesians 3:17b-19 says, "And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." (NIV)
We are to experience the depths of His love together with all the saints! It doesn't mean that we are only to experience the love of Christ individually while others around us are equally experiencing His love individually. We are to experience His love together and we are an expression of the love of God to one another because Jesus is in us (Colossians 1:27 - "Christ in you, the hope of glory").
Ephesians 2:19-22 says: "Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."(NIV) Ephesians 4:16 says, "From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."(NIV)
So, how do we do it?
"Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." Romans 12:15 "Therefore, comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing." I Thessalonians 5:11
"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do." Colossians 3:12-13 "Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord," Ephesians 5:19
"Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God." Romans 15:7
"As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." 1 Peter 4:10
"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25 To be assembled together means to be fitted together with others in the Body, as pieces in a puzzle or as parts of Jesus' body. This is not our notion of being assembled together just because we're all standing together in the same building.
"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
"Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way." Romans 14:13
"Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another." Romans 14:19 "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." James 5:16
"And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4:8
"Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another." Romans 12:10
"Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion." Romans 12:16
"Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law." Romans 13:8
"For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." Galatians 5:13
But, how do we do that?
"And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you." 1 Thessalonians 3:12
God gives us love for one another. We can ask Him to show us His love for each other. We can't help but love someone God shows us His heart for. We can also look at each other as who we are in Christ instead of letting our actions determine what we think of one another. We can ask God to show us who others are in Christ so we can help one another become the fullness of who we are in Him. We can also ask Jesus to love through us. This is how we build one another up with the spiritual gifts God has given each of us.
Scripture also says, "But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another." 1 Thessalonians 4:9 and Romans 14:5-6 says, "Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
As the Body of Christ, we are the expression of His love and His kingdom here on earth.
Since I have been a part of cell groups or home groups God has brought a flood of healing in my life that I'm still in the midst of. To tell you part of my story, I had so much pain and isolation in my life that I felt like I would never get out of it. I came from an abusive family background and I was one of the kids everyone made fun of from grade school all the way through high school. I went through life feeling hurt, rejected and isolated. God has used cell groups to bring healing in my life I never thought it would be possible. I thought I would have to carry around the pain and loneliness for the rest of my life. Instead, I have been healed in loving relationships in which we build one another up through the gifts of the Holy Spirit and am now in a place to be able to love others and help them heal. It's not just the cell groups themselves but the kind of relationships that God uses cells to promote the growth and development of. The kind of love I've found in cell groups is the kind that says, "I can see who you are in Christ beyond all those things that the enemy has tried to bring against you and I love you and am here to support you in being all that you are in Him."
